Revenge is sweet 🔪

Ons Jabeur, the Tunisian tennis star, has set her sights on winning a Grand Slam tournament after her heartbreak in last year's Wimbledon final.

From anger to joy
In a press conference following her quarterfinal victory over Elena Rybakina, the player expressed her joy and determination over winning the much anticipated rematch between the two. Jabeur credited her success to staying true to her coach and converting the anger of losing last year’s final into positive energy.

Drawing on crowd energy
Reflecting on her growth since last year, she emphasised the importance of experience and increased confidence. Jabeur expressed pride in her mental, physical, and technical improvements. Grateful for the support of the crowd, she acknowledged the energy they provide and aimed to make her country and Africa proud.

Looking ahead to her semifinal match against Aryna Sabalenka, Jabeur affirmed that she would maintain her style of play and seize any opportunities that arise.

Battle of the youth 👶

Carlos Alcaraz, made more history at Wimbledon on Wednesday by defeating Holger Rune to secure his spot in the semi-finals. The quarter-final match between Alcaraz and the 20-year-old Rune marked the first time in the Open Era that two players under the age of 21 battled for a place in the Wimbledon semi-finals.

Youth on display
The crowd at Centre Court was treated to an exhilarating display of youthful talent as both players showcased their destructive shotmaking abilities. Meeting for the third time and first on grass, Alcaraz and Rune came out firing in a tight first set before the Spaniard pulled away. Ultimately, Alcaraz emerged victorious with a 7-6(3), 6-4, 6-4 win. .

Alcaraz said. "From the second set on, I enjoyed a lot…I played my game and had a smile on my face, which is the key to everything. Thanks to winning the first set and screaming that huge 'vamos' helped me a lot and helped me find my best level."

Alcaraz expressed his excitement, calling it a dream come true to reach this stage of the tournament. He becomes the youngest man since Novak Djokovic in 2007 to reach the semi-finals at SW19.

Rune under the weather
On the losing side, Rune was left with excuses. Addressing the media following his defeat, Rune confirmed that he was not feeling at his best when he woke up this morning but refused to share the exact details about what the issue is.

“I’m a little bit disappointed,” said Rune. “I didn’t feel the best in today’s match, but I did my best not to disappoint the crowd. I tried to fight until the end.”

In his quest for a second major title, Alcaraz will now face World No. 3 and human spirograph Daniil Medvedev.

Bring it on

Fresh off his 46th Grand Slam record equalling match, Novak Djokovic was already turning his sights to his young Italian opponent Jannik Sinner.

"I can't wait to face Sinner"
Speaking to media, Djokovic expressed his anticipation to face Sinner, recalling their memorable encounter at Wimbledon last year. In the match of the tournament, the ginger ninja had lead by two sets, but was unable to complete the job with Novak doing what Novak does, grinding down his opponent to the very end to win in 5.

Expecting an improved player
Djokovic recognised Sinner's improvement and aggressive playing style, but looked forward to the challenge and expects the 21 year old to be highly motivated. With two days to recover, both players are geared up for an intense battle on the grass court.

Personally, we think the Sinner is taking some of that time to quietly pray for some divine intervention.
